The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining specialized machinery used in the precision slitting, spooling, and winding of various flexible materials. Equipment Operation: Set up and operate production machinery (such as slitting or winding machines) according to specific job orders and technical drawings.
Quality Control: Perform regular inspections of finished products using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, and tape measures) to ensure compliance with tolerances.
Material Handling: Load large rolls of material onto machines and unload finished products. This includes heavy pushing, pulling, and lifting of rolls.
Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs, including material usage, waste tracking, and quality check results in the computer system.
Troubleshooting: Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to prevent defects or mechanical downtime.
Safety & Housekeeping: Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and maintain a clean, organized workspace (5S standards)..
Working hours: Various Shifts Available
Skills:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or "web-handling" environment (working with continuous rolls of paper, film, or foil).
Experience with precision measurement tools.
Familiarity with ISO quality standards or Lean Manufacturing principles.

Qualifications:
Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand how machinery works and perform basic troubleshooting.
Mathematical Proficiency: Strong basic math skills and the ability to read and interpret measurements accurately.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods (12-hour shifts) and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs consistently.
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot minor defects in materials or variations in machine performance.
Dependability: A strong attendance record is critical due to the 2-2-3 rotating schedule and/or 8 hour shifts
