The OD Grinding and Nib Truing Operator sets up and operates precision manual grinding machinery to finish PCD cutting tools to exact specifications. In this role, you will execute external grinding and nib truing processes while maintaining high standards for tool geometries, dimensional tolerances, and edge quality.

You will be responsible for setting up and operating manual grinding equipment to perform outside diameter grinding on PCD cutting tools based on technical print specs and work instructions. Your day-to-day duties include visually inspecting tool and PCD quality using microscopes, taking precise measurements with tools like micrometers, calipers, and PG1000s, and documenting all required metrics. Additionally, you will perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshoot minor issues, maintain accurate production logs, and adhere strictly to company safety protocols regarding equipment, heat, and gas handling.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Skills:
Technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing
Prior experience operating manual grinding machinery and performing machine set-ups
Proficient troubleshooting skills for minor machining issues
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision measuring instruments
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
