Spherion is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Manual Mill Operator in Loves Park, IL who is comfortable bridging the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. In this role, you won't just be "pushing buttons"; you'll be responsible for setting up and operating Manual Mills to produce high-precision components.

Key Focus: Manual machining in a clean environment
What You’ll Do
Configure fixtures, select tooling, and set offsets for CNC mills and manual machines.
Perform secondary operations, repairs, or one-off prototypes on manual mills with high proficiency.
Interpret complex technical drawings, GD&T symbols, and job routers to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges) to inspect your own work and maintain tolerances.
Perform daily "shop math" and routine machine maintenance including coolant checks, chip removal, and lubrication.
What You’ll Need
Experience: 2+ years in a machine shop environment preferred.
Math Skills: Strong grasp of geometry, trigonometry, and decimal-to-fraction conversions.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of feeds, speeds, and tool geometry for various materials (Aluminum, Steel, Plastics).
Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of a shift.
