Looking for a hands-on role with a growing, safety-focused manufacturing team right here in Gladwin? Spherion is seeking Machine Operators, Assemblers, and Industrial Sewers for a prime manufacturer in Gladwin County. We prioritize a clean, supportive work environment where employee safety comes first, and we empower our team members to grow, learn new skills, and succeed. A background using basic hand tools and ability to read a ruler to 1/16 of an inch is desired.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble mechanical components, run basic wiring, process parts, and operate shop machinery (such as drills, mills, or saws).
• Set up and operate industrial sewing machines, lay out and cut fabrics using shop drawings, and manage thread/machine maintenance.
• Read basic manufacturing prints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly dimensions and part locations.
• Safely utilize hand tools, pneumatic air guns, air staplers, and semi-automatic manufacturing equipment.
• Inspect finished products for quality, prep orders for shipment, maintain a clean workspace, and strictly follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
• Cross-train across departments and collaborate with team members to hit production goals.

Skills:

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions).
• Reliable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, twist, and reach.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and pneumatic equipment (e.g., air staplers, air guns).
• Ability to read and interpret basic manufacturing drawings and work orders.
