Shift Leadership & Team Management: Lead, coach, and supervise night shift machine operators, extrusion technicians, packagers, and material handlers. Direct daily shift huddles, work assignments, and performance tracking.Production & Floor Operations: Oversee continuous blown film extrusion, inline printing, slitting, and bag-converting machinery to consistently meet shift volume, scrap reduction, and efficiency metrics.Quality Assurance: Ensure all manufactured products meet strict client specifications for gauge, seal integrity, strength, and appearance.Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA safety guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, machine guarding compliance, and PPE usage across the facility.Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Partner with maintenance technicians to address equipment downtime and assist with basic mechanical/process troubleshooting on converting and extrusion lines.Material Management: Monitor resin feeding operations (including recycled PIR/PCR blends) to keep scrap low and support eco-friendly production targets.Shift Handover & Reporting: Complete accurate end-of-shift reports capturing production output, downtime, scrap rates, and detailed handover notes for the incoming morning supervisor.
1-4 years
Plastics/Packaging Experience: 3+ years of supervisory experience specifically in blown film extrusion, plastics manufacturing, or flexible packaging/bag converting.Recycled Resin Knowledge: Familiarity with Post-Industrial (PIR) or Post-Consumer (PCR) recycled plastic processing.Lean/5S: Experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools, 6S, or Kaizen events.ERP/MES Systems: Hands-on experience with production logging software (e.g., SAP, IQMS/DELMIA) for downtime and scrap tracking.Safety Certifications: First Aid / CPR / OSHA 10 or 30 certifications.
Leadership: Proven ability to direct, motivate, and hold accountable an off-shift manufacturing team.Technical Aptitude: Solid understanding of automated production machinery and mechanical troubleshooting.Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making skills during off-shift hours when senior management or engineering support is off-site.Communication: Clear verbal and written communication for operator coaching, handovers, and shift reporting.Safety First: In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines, 5S principles, and workplace safety protocols.
