Position Overview
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract (3-6 months for maternity leave cover)
Compensation: $25.00 - $28.00 / hour (Depending on experience)
Location: Primarily on-site in Davison, MI (at least 4 out of 5 days per week) with minor travel to an Auburn Hills location up to once a week.
Work Environment: In-person manufacturing and industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing, managing, and communicating company safety policies, initiatives, and branch safety KPI programs.
- Perform regular facility and job site safety inspections; evaluate hazards, and provide real-time coaching and training to correct deficiencies.
- Conduct or coordinate safety training, audit training quality, maintain records, and ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Act as the first point of contact for injuries?guiding the process to ensure proper care- and conduct thorough accident/incident investigations to implement corrective actions.
- Participate in the Safety Committee, issue safe work permits, and actively identify areas to reduce occupational accidents and financial losses.
Skills:
This position requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting material or equipment (some of which may be heavy or awkward) appropriate for a manufacturing plant setting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction safety, occupational health and safety, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience with hands-on safety responsibilities.
- Industrial OSHA 30, OSHA 511, or OSHA 502, alongside thorough knowledge of OSHA safety standards. Professional Health & Safety (H&S) certifications or outreach trainer credentials are highly preferred.
- Capacity to communicate effectively and collaborate professionally across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects, make well-informed decisions under pressure, and work effectively with minimal direction.
