Spherion is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Sandblaster/Painter for a premier local manufacturer. This is a critical role responsible for the final finishing and aesthetic quality of machine frames and parts. While this starts as a contract position, our client is looking for a long-term team member who is ready to transition to their permanent payroll.

Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation - Grind, clean, and prepare metal surfaces; perform machine sandblasting to ensure parts are ready for coating.
Precision Painting - Prime and spray machine frames and parts with finish coats; ensure high-quality results with no runs, sags, or missed areas.
Technical Interpretation - Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine specific finishing requirements.
Color & Mixing - Collaborate with vendors for accurate color matching and mix paints according to strict specifications.
Maintenance - Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including paint booths, spray equipment, and hoses.
Equipment Operation - Safely operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) to move parts through the finishing process.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Skills:
Long-Term Mindset - A history of 3+ years at a single employer, showing they are looking for a permanent home.
Independent Worker - Ability to manage their own workflow and prioritize work orders with minimal supervision.
Safety Leadership - A strong commitment to wearing proper respirators and keeping the paint booth "tour-ready" at all times.

Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Experience - 3+ years of machine sandblasting and industrial painting experience.
Stability - A proven track record of steady employment (no major gaps or frequent job-hopping).
Technical Skills - Ability to research and read engineering drawings via a database; basic math skills for volume and weight calculations.
Physical Ability - Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
Education - High school diploma or GED required.
Commitment - Must be dependable, reliable, and able to fit into a professional, team-oriented culture.
