Responsibilities:
- Prepare work centers and design custom fixtures for GMAW, SMAW, and robotic welding setups.
- Program robotic welding units and build supporting tooling to streamline automated production.
- Analyze technical engineering drawings and accurately execute complex weld symbols.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace while adhering to high-level safety guidelines and quality benchmarks.
- Perform routine preventative care on welding equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Execute precise welds across various production projects to meet strict deadlines without sacrificing craftsmanship.
- Identify and report material defects or specs deviations, troubleshooting issues independently when needed.
Skills:
- Active mobility throughout the day, including standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
- Ability to comfortably lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in an industrial shop environment with routine exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times (welding hood, safety glasses, ear protection, gloves).
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of active welding experience across diverse applications, plus at least 2 years in a manufacturing setting.
- Deep understanding of wire types, filler metals, and alloy characteristics (including steel and aluminum).
- Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering schematics, blueprints, and weld specifications.
- Attention to detail, efficient organizational skills, clear communication, and the adaptability to balance shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
