Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Support and serve as the primary back-up to the Plant Manager; assist in managing daily production schedules and adjusting for unexpected delays.
Department Oversight: Directly manage the shipping/receiving department, including personnel, processes, and logistics/drivers.
Inventory & Facility Management: Maintain accountability for raw materials, packaging supplies, and consumable inventory, while enforcing strict standards for facility cleanliness and organization.
Expediting & Quality Control: Track high-priority "hot jobs" through production, collaborate with Quality Technicians to resolve issues, and focus on rework reduction.
Maintenance Liaison: Partner with the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment issues are resolved quickly to minimize downtime.
Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, optimize manufacturing processes, and train/develop floor employees.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
Project Management: Formal experience managing production projects from inception to completion.
Technical Aptitude: Background in manufacturing engineering or process optimization (Lean/5S concepts are a plus).
Workforce Development: Strong coaching skills with a track record of successfully training and upskilling production employees.

1-4 years
Qualifications:
Experience: 3?5 years of management/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Industry Background: 3?5 years of technical or operational experience specifically within metal fabrication.
Problem-Solving: Proven ability to creatively solve problems on the fly and manage multiple competing priorities amid frequent interruptions.
Urgency & Flexibility: A fast-acting mindset with strong initiative, excellent follow-through, and the flexibility to adapt to tight customer timelines.
