Now hiring a CNC Manufacturing Production Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with a world-leading manufacturing company located in Conway, SC. The Manager will supervise a team of approximately 25 operators and 2 leads while actively programming, setting up, and operating advanced CNC machinery. What You'll Do:
- Lead the Team: Supervise, manage, and plan the daily activities of about 25 operators and 2 leads.
- Drive Precision Production: Operate, set up, and program CNC milling machines and lathes (primarily Fanuc controls) to produce complex parts efficiently.
- Optimize Processes: Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and optimizing machining workflows.

Responsibilities:
- Department Management: Process payroll, conduct training, issue coaching and disciplinary action, and conduct performance reviews for the machining staff.
- CNC Programming: Program CNC machines using CAM software and write or modify CNC code based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Machine Setup & Operation: Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices such as bore gauges, micrometers, and CMMs.
- Quality Assurance: Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T to ensure accurate production. Use precision measuring instruments (dial indicators, height gauges, laser tools) to verify part dimensions.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment to minimize downtime and troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Versatile Manufacturing: Apply electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques for complex materials , assist with assembly tasks using hand/power tools and welding equipment , and operate forklifts as needed.
- Schedule Flexibility: Work up to 12-hour shifts, which may include weekends and operating holidays, based on production needs.
Working hours: 6:45 AM - 7:00 PM
Skills:
- Advanced Techniques: Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques and knowledge of plastics injection molding processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote workflow improvements.
- Certifications: Valid forklift certification preferred for safe material handling.

- Experience: 5+ years of experience managing/leading a machining department and its operators.

- Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading combined with GD&T principles , plus a solid mechanical understanding of milling, turning, drilling, and grinding.
- Measurement Aptitude: Ability to accurately use precision measuring instruments and perform basic math for tolerance calculations.
