Spherion is hiring a Certified Peer Specialist to work in Bentleyville on a part time basis, but overtime/shift hours are always available! This position is a Direct Hire opportunity, paying between $15-17/hr. 

Job Description:

As a Certified Peer Specialist, the advocates will assist individuals in treatment & help them prepare for regaining community living. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a mental health and/or substance use recovery history. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will assist the individuals by promoting growth, recovery and wellness.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as an advocate for the individuals with mental health
• Assist with any needed information and support 
• Identify goals with the individuals
• Provide public information for services, educational opportunities and vocational skills
• Coordinate groups on a weekly basis
• Meet weekly with treatment team and monthly internal meetings
• Documentation skills

Education: Not Specified

• Must have successfully completed a 2 week Department of Human Services or with Mental Health & Substance Abuse program
• Be a Certified Peer Specialist
• Completed 75 hours of peer training
• Passed the PA Certification Board exam
• This position requires an additional 18 hours of training each year, 12 of those hours must focus on peer support and/or recovery support

Experience: 6 months

Related Experience: Current or previous mental health history to become a role model for individuals in recovery, Excellent communication skills, Ability to work in a team setting, Must have a driver's license or ability to obtain one, Ability to provide own transportation to/from work and off site when required
