Job Description:
Certified Peer Specialists offer peer support to promote growth, recovery, and wellness for individuals managing mental health.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advocate to the individuals
- Provide information and support
- Assist people with a wide variety of services
- Help identify goals
- Share info on public services, education and job skills
- Lead weekly groups
- Ability to work weekends and afternoons
Education: High School
- High School Diploma or GED
- Either have a valid PA driver's license or ability to obtain one
Experience: 2 months
- Already completed the 2 week Department of Human Services or OMHSAS approved Certified Peer Specialist Training
- Complete 75 hours of peer training and pass the PCB exam
- Required to complete an additional 18 hours of training annually, 12 of those hours must focus on peer support and/or recovery practices

- Travel off site when required in company vehicle
- Able to work with people in team setting
- Excellent communication skills, Must have strong documentation skills to meet regulations
- Participate in weekly treatment team and monthly interagency meetings
