- Novice orbital welder and use of common shop tools such as grinders, sanders and hydraulic straightening equipment.- Moderate capability for reading and understanding engineering drawings.- Moderate capability for using measuring equipment (tape measure, framing square, straight edge).- Moderate capability for using shop measuring equipment, engineering drawings and cutting equipment to cut stock (tubing, angle iron, channel iron, flat bar, etc.) for simple welded miscellaneous assemblies and frame assemblies.- Moderate capability for fabricating simple miscellaneous welded assemblies.- Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent loss. Conforms to departmental safety requirements.
1-4 years
- This is a physically demanding position that often requires standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.-Willing to learn from peers and superiors how to assemble.-Team Player a must
-Must be able to pass a background check-Must be able to read a OMS (provided at interview)-Must be willing to work in clean room (white complete body coverage suit) for duration of work.-Must follow all clean room standards and procedures.- This position requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to welding helmets, hand shields, goggles, aprons, and gloves. Additional PPE will be required for this position as it involves work in a clean room environment. (Cleanroom hood, coveralls, and gators)
