etup, calibrate, operate, and modify programs on Coordinate Measuring Machines to verify complex dimensional specifications. Your daily duties will include executing First Article Inspections, incoming material checks, and final product verifications using both automated metrology equipment and manual handheld tools like height gauges, micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks. You will be responsible for reading complex engineering blueprints and GD&T callouts to ensure absolute part accuracy. When non-conformances arise, you will document defects, initiate Non-Conformance Reports, tag affected parts, and collaborate directly with engineering and production teams to assist in root-cause investigations. Throughout all tasks, you will maintain meticulous documentation and inspection logs to ensure complete compliance with strict customer standards and ISO quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
To succeed in this role, you must have demonstrated experience setting up and operating CMM equipment using standard industry software, alongside a thorough working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles. You need strong technical math skills, including geometry and basic trigonometry, to accurately calculate and verify complex spatial dimensions and tight-tolerance features. A high level of computer literacy is essential for logging non-conformance reports in ERP systems and inputting measurement data. You must be dependable and comfortable working a dedicated Swing Shift schedule in Fremont. Physically, this role requires the ability to walk across shop floor environments, alternate between sitting and standing, routinely lift up to 35 lbs, and maintain strong visual acuity for close-up inspections.
Working hours: 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Skills:
An ideal candidate will bring three to five or more years of quality inspection experience specifically within a precision sheet metal fabrication or high-tolerance CNC machining environment. Prior experience writing both online and offline CMM programs directly from CAD models is highly valued. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with completing formal First Article Inspection reports according to customer specifications or AS9102 standards. Active ASQ certifications, such as a Certified Quality Inspector credential, or formal metrology training will make your application stand out.
