Available Roles & Pay Ranges:
Machinist Trainee (Flexible Shift / 32+ hours per week) | $18.00 - $21.00 / hr
CNC Machinist C (3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) | $22.00 - $26.00 / hr (plus shift differential)
CNC Machinist A (2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) | $28.00 - $35.00 / hr (plus shift differential)
Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of factory CNC machining equipment (including mills, lathes, and grinders) to safely produce precision fluid-handling components.
- Process & Setup Development (Level A): Collaborate directly with engineering and quality technicians on new product preproduction, program prove-outs, and tool change procedures.
- Quality Control & Inventory: Use precision gages to monitor dimensions, log accurate inventory counts, and perform secondary operations like debarring during machine cycle times to minimize waste.
- Daily Maintenance: Perform operator-level preventative maintenance on machinery and actively report equipment issues or potential process enhancements to supervisors.
- Team Training & Mentorship: Actively participate in departmental productivity goals. Level A machinists will regularly provide hands-on training and assistance to Level C operators and Trainees.
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 AM (Various Shifts Available)
Skills:
- Mechanical Aptitude: Exceptional natural talent for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and maintaining mechanical systems.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly in a team-oriented environment. Advanced candidates (Level A) should possess strong communication skills to train and mentor junior operators.
- Computer Literacy: Strong PC skills with the ability to comfortably navigate manufacturing ERP and operating software.
- Safety Consciousness: A proactive, "safety-first" commitment to identifying problem setups, following PPE protocols, and maintaining a clean work area.
Education: High School
Experience: 1-5+ years
Qualifications:
- Education & Training: High School Diploma or GED required for all roles. Trainee candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited 2-year Machine Tool Technology program. Level A candidates require a completed 2-year degree or equivalent CNC certificate.
- Experience: 0-1 years for Trainee; 1-4 years preferred for Level C; 4.5+ years of verified CNC milling/turning operation required for Level A.
- Technical Foundation: Ability to read and interpret layouts, routings, technical blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Quality & Measurement: Proficiency in collecting/inputting SPC data using precision measurement tools (comparators, CMM, Trimos, and gages).
- Physical Capability: Ability to sit for 1 hour, stand for 3 hours, and walk for 4 hours of an 8-hour shift. Frequent bending, stooping, and repetitive elbow movements. Ability to occasionally lift and load up to 45 lbs or greater.
- Compliance & Availability: Ability to pass a background check and 10-panel drug screen. Must be flexible to work the assigned shift hours and accept off-shift/weekend placement upon program graduation (for Trainees).
