We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer II / Set Up Operator to support precision manufacturing operations for high-reliability aerospace and defense components.
In this dual-role capacity, you will analyze technical drawings, generate multi-axis CNC programs, design custom holding fixtures, and execute complete machine setups. The ideal candidate blends strong CAD/CAM programming capability with hands-on machining expertise on CNC mills and lathes.

Responsibilities:
Programming & Process Engineering
Analyze blueprints, engineering sketches, and CAD models to determine cut sequences, tooling selections, machine speeds, and feed rates.
Write and prove out multi-axis CNC programs for milling and turning operations using CAM software (e.g., MILLCAM, SolidWorks).
Develop parametric programs (Macros) and review NC plot software to verify tool paths and eliminate programming errors.
Design custom machine-holding fixtures and evaluate tool designs, coordinating with engineering on design-for-manufacturability modifications.
Author clear standard operating instructions, instruction sheets, check sheets, and cutter lists to guide machine operators.
Set Up, Machining & Maintenance
Set up, calibrate, and operate a variety of CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and multi-axis machinery according to job orders and tooling instructions.
Perform first-piece inspections, verify dimensions, input program adjustments, and troubleshoot mechanical or code-level issues.
Perform routine preventive maintenance, monitor tool wear, and replace tooling to ensure smooth production runs.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing setup times and cycle times
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of staff, combined with a continuous improvement outlook.

Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
Programming & Software: Experience with CAM/CAD software (SolidWorks, MILLCAM, AutoCAD preferred) and familiarity with parametric Macro programming.
Machining Experience: Experience operating and setting up Haas CNC machinery with Renishaw probing systems is strongly preferred.
Math & Blueprint Proficiency: Advanced shop math skills???including practical geometry, algebra, and trigonometry???to calculate feeds, speeds, dimensions, and radii.
Problem-Solving & Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with proven ability to analyze technical issues and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of related CNC programming, machine set-up, and precision machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
