We are hiring a Custodian for a local church.
We are looking to get someone started that is initiative-taking, efficient, and proficient in maintaining the church surroundings and all publicly accessible areas of the church. The Church custodian will be responsible for keeping the facility clean, safe, and welcoming for worship, meetings, and events. Duties include both daily/weekly cleaning and periodic deep cleaning, as well as maintenance and event support. Must possess an understanding of proper cleaning methods.

Responsibilities:
???Maintaining the Church Building and surrounding.
???Keep the Sanctuary and altar clean and orderly.
???Clean all floors - sweep, vacuum, polish, and buff.
???Dust furniture.
???Keep storage rooms and kitchen clean and organized.
???Keep Classrooms, Meeting rooms, and offices clean and sanitized.
???Clean and maintain windows.
???Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, and countertops; replenish soap, paper towels, and toilet paper; sweep, mop, buff, and wax floors.
???Empty and disinfect trash; dust high surfaces; spot clean walls; disinfect tables.
???Restock supplies.
???Change light bulbs, make minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, painting), and report serious issues.
???Lock church doors daily and as needed, arrive early, turn lights on and off, stay until everyone is gone and set the alarm.
???Fill and drain the baptistry as needed. Provide towels and all necessary accessories needed for baptism on set dates.
???Routinely inspect the building for defects needed repairs.
???Quarterly carpet cleaning or as needed.
???Observe proper chemical handling procedures when working with cleaning agents.
???Set-up and clean up after events and Church Services.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Must be observant, respectful, motivated, and committed to providing church members, visitors, and staff with a clean, orderly place to worship and congregate. The Custodian as a representative of the Church is required to always make a positive and professional appearance.
