Spherion is seeking a high-caliber Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Analyst to spearhead a comprehensive safety documentation overhaul for a premier Aerospace & Defense laboratory in Carpinteria.

This is a targeted, 3-to-6-month assignment for an EHS professional who excels at building safety programs from the ground up. If you are a specialist who enjoys "cleaning up" documentation, standardizing protocols, and establishing a culture of compliance in a high-tech lab environment, this is the project for you.
Responsibilities:
Your primary objective is to bridge the gap in site documentation and elevate the safety standards across multiple lab departments.
- Develop and implement safety policies, standards, and procedures to ensure uniform compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Audit and improve Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments; ensure routine and non-routine tasks are accurately captured.
- Facilitate the site safety committee, engaging representatives from various labs to foster a cohesive safety culture.
- Coordinate the tracking and root-cause analysis of workplace incidents, assigning corrective actions to ensure long-term prevention.
- Manage specific safety programs including Chemical Safety, Electrical Safety, Machine Guarding, and Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS).
- Lead internal and external audits, providing corrective actions and tracking them to closure.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on EH&S experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered).

Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in Safety Science, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
Proven experience with Behavioral-Based Safety, industrial ergonomics, and managing electrical/chemical safety programs.
Strong ability to interface with everyone from laboratory staff to executive management.
