- Reviews documents such as production schedules to determine material requirements, and material priorities.- Arranges for delivery and distribution of supplies and parts in order to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules. Must be able to think ahead to the next step.- Maintains inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands. Converts raw materials to WIP in AS400 computer system.- Ensure location number is established in the AS400 computer system for all inventory. - Tracks, troubleshoots & adjusts inventory in the AS400 system with assistance from the Production Scheduler and the department supervisor. - Performs cycle counts of raw materials.- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to a predetermined sequence.- Communicates effectively and works very closely with receiving, quality control, work order expeditor and leadership within the facility to resolve issues and achieve maximum efficiencies.- Communicates to purchasing any material issues that may arise through the course of production.- Works very closely with receiving to ensure materials are stored properly to ensure they are located effortlessly and there is no delay to the production process.- Works with the production department leads quickly to get each project moved along.- Confer with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.- Comprehends written and verbal instructions and translates them into actionable tasks in support of the production process- Refers to procedural instructions appropriate for each job, function or assignment before commencing work.- Promotes quality by maintaining discipline and compliance of procedures related to job specifications.- Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures. - Handles hazardous waste within the department as established by state and federal regulations.- All other tasks as assigned by the department supervisor.- Participate in annual safety training and annual training on handling hazardous waste relative to their department and position and in accordance with state and federal regulations.- Must obtain forklift certification within the first ninety (90) days of hire and renew certification every two years.
