The Opportunity
In this role, you will be responsible for moving, stacking, and organizing heavy materials. This position offers a steady, structured schedule and the chance to work alongside a dedicated team that values safety and efficiency.
Schedule:
Hours: 7:30 AM ??? 5:00 PM
Work-Life Balance: Your day includes a full one-hour lunch break and two fifteen-minute rest periods.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a 36,000-pound capacity forklift to transport large-scale materials across the motor pool.
Assist with the strategic placement of inventory to ensure the site remains orderly and accessible.
Conduct daily equipment checks to ensure the forklift is in peak operating condition before starting tasks.
Work closely with site supervisors to meet daily movement goals and project deadlines.
Working hours: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Previous experience working on a military base or within a motor pool is helpful.
The ability to work comfortably in various outdoor weather conditions.
Strong verbal communication skills to coordinate movements with ground personnel.
A background operating heavy equipment.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Base Access Eligibility: Because this role is on a military installation, you must be able to pass a background check and possess a valid REAL ID or U.S. Passport.
Safety Gear: You must own and wear steel-toed boots. Spherion will provide your high-visibility vest and hard hat.
Heavy Lift Experience: You must have a background operating high-capacity forklifts (36,000 pounds or similar heavy equipment).
