Equipment Operation: Safely operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift to transport palletized materials, steel crates, or bulk goods.Loading & Unloading: Efficiently load and unload outbound and inbound freight from trucks and shipping containers.Inventory Management: Utilize RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track movement, perform cycle counts, and ensure stock accuracy.Staging & Put-away: Retrieve products from racking systems and stage them in designated areas for shipping or assembly lines.Safety Inspections: Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections (checking fluids, brakes, and hydraulics) and report any mechanical issues immediately.Warehouse Support: Assist with manual labor tasks such as shrink-wrapping pallets, hand-stacking boxes, and maintaining a clean, debris-free workspace

Experience: Minimum of 6-12 months of verifiable experience operating a sit-down forklift.Certification: Must possess or be able to obtain an OSHA-compliant forklift operator certification (Spherion often provides or facilitates this training).Physical Ability: Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and sit or stand for extended periods (often 8-12 hour shifts).Compliance: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen per client requirements.Technical Literacy: Ability to read manifests, follow written instructions, and use basic digital scanning equipment.
Versatility: Experience with additional equipment such as stand-up reach trucks, cherry pickers, or electric pallet jacks.Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in a 3PL (third-party logistics), automotive manufacturing, or aerospace warehouse environment.WMS Proficiency: Familiarity with inventory software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized WMS platforms).Soft Skills: Strong spatial awareness, a record of excellent attendance, and the ability to work well within a team under tight deadlines.
