Job Description:

The Formulation Operator supports production, preparation, and formulation of water-based and solvent-based ceramic slurries. This position requires collaboration with the engineering team, Value Stream Manager and production personnel to balance priorities and meet customer demands.

Responsibilities:

• Support formulation of water-based and solvent-based ceramic slurries.
• Demonstrate the ability to apply mathematical calculations and formulations to work assignments on a daily basis.
• Prepare metallic and non-metallic pastes.
• Operate and clean equipment such as ball mills, spray dryers, three-roll mill, mixers, mixing tanks, viscometers, and drying ovens.
• Perform general housekeeping.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Track and document inventory of precious metals and inks.
• Notify management of low inventory of raw materials to prevent running out of raw materials.
• Conduct 100% accurate material cycle counts on a monthly basis.
• Train other operators as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Education: High School

• High School or Equivalent.

Experience: 12 months

Physical:

• Required to walk and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
• Able to lift to 40 pounds.
• Able to be on feet for extended periods of time.
• See clearly close up along with depth and distance perception.

Skills:

• Communication and interpersonal skills in order to regularly interface with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Scheduling, etc.
• Ability to enter a non-permit confined space by following safety procedures.
• Attention to detail.
• Basic math skills.
