Performs manual labor tasks OUTDOORS such as digging trenches, loading/unloading materials, operating hand/power tools, and restoring job sites (backfilling, tamping, replanting) to install and maintain underground systems (water, sewer, telecom cables/conduit). Key duties include assisting operators, working with other trades, following safety protocols (OSHA), exposing existing utilities (potholing), and ensuring proper placement of conduits, vaults, and pedestals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the excavation, trenching, and backfilling of underground utility lines using hand tools and power equipment
- Safely operate machinery such as trenchers, loaders, and compactors to support installation projects
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment
- Support the installation of pipes, conduits, valves, and other underground utility components with precision
- Collaborate with team members to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions for accurate project execution
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by properly storing tools and disposing of debris
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards promptly

Qualifications:
- MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
- MUST PASS DMV CHECK
- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK OUTSIDE FOR ENTIRE SHIFT
- Requiring physical stamina and teamwork, strength to lift up to 75 lbs, and ability to work in varied conditions.
- Safety Focus: Awareness and adherence to safety regulations (OSHA certification often required).
- Tool Proficiency: Competence with hand and basic power tools.
- Basic Construction Knowledge: Understanding of job site setup and restoration.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work overtime and in all weather.
