Spherion is currently hiring a Healthcare Compliance Administrative Specialist to support a major State of South Carolina healthcare facility based in Columbia, SC 29203. Reporting directly to the Department Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining systematic data accuracy, verifying medical credentials, executing quality control protocols, and ensuring total file audit-readiness across all inpatient clinical and administrative staff.
Primary Work Site: Columbia, SC 29203 (with various assigned worksites as needed to nearby healthcare facilities)
Pay Rate: $16.00 / hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
Operational Expectation: Standard hours apply, with required schedule flexibility to extend past 5:00 PM, work weekends, or cover holidays during active regulatory quality audits and state inspections.

Core Responsibilities
Healthcare Quality Auditing & Credential Verification: Conduct thorough, systematic audits of medical competency records, healthcare licensures, CPR credentials, and background checks across internal, contract, and agency personnel.
Compliance Tracking & Quality Control: Execute precise 90-day, 60-day, and 30-day quality assurance notification schedules for expiring medical licensures (such as DEA licenses and state medical credentials) to leadership.
Data Systems & Spreadsheet Analytics: Maintain, update, and manage complex Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and internal healthcare databases to track compliance data and quality metrics with zero margin for error.
Regulatory Inspection & Audit Readiness: Maintain physical and digital field folders to guarantee continuous readiness for unannounced state healthcare inspections and official medical regulatory quality audits (e.g., Joint Commission).
Quality Assurance & Interdepartmental Coordination: Maintain formal, accurate communication channels with Medical Credentialing, HR, and Employee Health Services, while assisting with interview scheduling logistics.
Multi-Site Quality Audits: Report primarily to Columbia, SC 29203, with the flexibility to transfer to nearby assigned medical facilities mid-day or after lunch to conduct specialized on-site file audits.

Quality Control & Attention to Detail: Proven ability to cross-reference medical data, audit expiration dates, and spot minor discrepancies across complex compliance documentation.
Technical & Data Analysis Skills: Strong competency in Microsoft Excel, database management, document scanning, and digital record-keeping systems.
Process Discipline & HIPAA Confidentiality: Strict adherence to healthcare data privacy standards, regulatory compliance guidelines, and established operating procedures.
Adaptability under Quality Protocols: Ability to adjust focus quickly during urgent state medical quality audits and inspections while maintaining composure and methodical accuracy.
Professional Standards: Professional work conduct and semi-professional business dress suitable for a medical administrative setting (e.g., slacks, skirts, collared tops; no open-toed footwear).
