The Injection Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of injection molding machines used to produce high-quality plastic components. This role is central to the production floor, requiring a blend of mechanical aptitude and keen attention to detail to ensure that parts meet strict dimensional and aesthetic specifications. Responsibilities:
Start up and shut down injection molding machines; monitor machine cycles and make necessary adjustments to pressure, temperature, and speed settings.
Assist in the installation and removal of molds; perform resin changes and ensure all auxiliary equipment (dryers, thermolators, and grinders) is correctly configured.
Conduct regular visual and manual inspections of molded parts to detect defects such as short shots, flash, or splay; utilize calipers or gauges for precision measurements.
Identify and resolve common molding issues (e.g., cycle time variances or part sticking) and report complex mechanical or electrical failures to maintenance teams.
Feed resin hoppers, manage regrind processes, and ensure finished products are properly labeled, packed, and moved to the staging area.
Maintain accurate production logs, recording data on scrap rates, cycle times, and machine downtime to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and keep the work cell clean and organized according to 5S standards.

Skills:
2+ years of experience specifically in plastic injection molding or a similar high-volume manufacturing environment.
Previous experience with hydraulic or pneumatic systems and an understanding of scientific molding principles.

1-4 years
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to use hand tools for minor machine adjustments.
Ability to stand for long shifts (8???12 hours) and lift up to 50 lbs. Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
Competence in basic math (addition, subtraction, decimals) and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings or process sheets.
A strong track record of punctuality and the flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
