The Floor Technician / Janitor is responsible for performing specialized floor care and general janitorial duties to maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive environment for residents, staff, and visitors of the retirement community. Responsibilities:
Perform all aspects of hard floor care, including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and buffing various surfaces.
Clean and sanitize common areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, dining areas, and recreational spaces.
Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, ledges, woodwork, and equipment.
Clean windows, window sills, mirrors, and light fixtures.
Clean, wash, and sanitize bathroom fixtures and replenish soap, paper, and towel supplies.
Collect and dispose of trash, refuse, and recyclable materials in designated containers.
Follow all established safety rules, policies, and procedures, including proper use of caution/safety signs (e.g., "Wet Floor").
Working hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Skills:
Previous experience (e.g., 1-2 years) in commercial floor care, janitorial, or housekeeping work is highly desired, preferably within a senior living or healthcare setting.

1-4 years
Qualifications:
Knowledge of standard cleaning and sanitation procedures.
Proficiency in operating industrial floor care equipment.
Basic understanding of floor cleaning chemicals and their appropriate uses.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and friendly demeanor toward seniors.
