Responsibilities:
Install, wire, test, and troubleshoot BESS units, solar PV equipment, and associated power conversion systems.
Set, align, and land connections on commercial switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, and motor control centers (MCCs).
Wire complex control panels, PLCs, and low-voltage monitoring/communication circuits from schematics
Run, bend, and install EMT, Rigid, and PVC conduit according to job specs and code.
Perform system commissioning, wire pulls, megger testing, and point-to-point checkouts.
Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety standards, NFPA 70E guidelines, and the current NEC.

Skills:
Apprentice Electrician Preferred Skills:
Basic Conduit Bending & Cable Tray: Proficient in bending and running 1/2" to 1" EMT, pulling heavy feeders/MC cable, and setting up cable trays.
Mechanical Installation & Mounting: Experience uncrating, placing, and securely mounting transformers, switchgear, control panels, and BESS enclosures.
Basic Wire Terminations & Color Coding: Clean stripping, crimping, and terminating of control wires and power conductors under supervision.
Blueprint & Schematic Literacy: Ability to read baseline electrical single-lines, point-to-point control schematics, and structural layout drawings.
Fundamental Meter Use: Safe usage of digital multimeters to test for de-energized circuits, continuity, and basic AC/DC voltage readings.
Basic Solar & Battery Layout: Familiarity with mounting solar PV rack arrays, landing string wiring, and handling DC distribution lines safely.
Safety & Code Compliance: Active OSHA 10/30 certification, strict adhereance to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, and working knowledge of foundational NEC rules.

Journeyman Electrician Preferred Skills
Commercial Power Distribution & Switchgear: Lead experience setting, aligning, landing, and commissioning large 480V/208V switchgear, step-up/step-down transformers, and switchboards.
Advanced BESS & Solar Integration: Proficient with commercial/utility Battery Energy Storage Systems (PCS, BMS, liquid cooling systems) and high-voltage DC solar inverter integration.
Complex Control Wiring & PLC Troubleshooting: Expert ability to wire and troubleshoot motor control centers (MCCs), PLC panels, CT/PT circuits, and low-voltage automation controls.
Advanced Testing & Commissioning: Expertise in megger testing (insulation resistance), phase rotation, micro-ohm resistance testing, and point-to-point signal verification.
Precision Conduit Fabrication: Advanced skills bending large-diameter EMT and Rigid Metallic Conduit (RMC) up to 4" using hydraulic and electric benders.
Code Authority & Job Leadership: Mastery of NEC codes (specifically Articles 480, 690, 705, and 706), leading crews of apprentices, reading advanced 3-line diagrams, and conducting LOTO/NFPA 70E safety briefings.

Qualifications:
Valid Journeyman License or registered Apprentice card in [State].
2+ years of commercial electrical experience (BESS, solar, or industrial control experience strongly preferred).
Proficiency reading one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, and electrical blueprints.
Strong working knowledge of standard test equipment (multimeters, megohmeters, phase rotation meters).
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate standard job site tools and lifts safely.
