The Lab Tech is responsible for accurately receiving, identifying, and accessioning pathology specimens submitted for diagnostic testing. This position ensures specimen integrity, proper documentation, and compliance with established laboratory procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. The Accessioner serves as a key support role for pathologists, histology staff, and laboratory personnel while maintaining efficient workflow and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and accession pathology specimens.
- Ensure all specimens are properly labeled and accompanied by complete requisition information.
- Assign accession numbers and enter patient and specimen information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Accurately enter patient demographics, physician information, specimen information and clinical history into the LIS.
- Review requisitions for completeness and compliance with laboratory requirements.
Working hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
- Previous healthcare, laboratory, pathology, or specimen-processing experience preferred.
- Experience with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records preferred.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
