Spherion Sioux Falls is seeking an experienced Logistics & Materials Specialist to work with a local client. The Logistics & Materials Specialist II executes core material handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory control workflows. Working with autonomy, this role coordinates daily dock activity, prepares domestic and export documentation, audits inventory accuracy, and trains entry-level warehouse personnel. The position serves as a primary operational link between production floor demand, third-party freight carriers, and internal administration to ensure smooth material movement.

Shift: 5:30 am - 2:30 pm Mon-Thurs, 5:30 am - 11:30 am Fri. unless working overtime.
$23-26/ hour DOE, with OT ability and Full Benefits
Responsibilities:
-Schedule daily dispatches, manage dock appointments, and direct yard flow; plan trailer weight/space distribution and safely load full truckload (FTL) outbound shipments
-Inspect incoming shipments for physical damage or specification variances; cross-reference delivered items against purchase orders and process system receipts in the ERP
-Draft export documentation (commercial invoices, packing declarations) and collaborate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to verify harmonized logistics coding and customs alignment
-Investigate inventory discrepancies to locate root causes; source part numbers, evaluate historical usage trends to support material availability, and maintain system accuracy for audits
-Onboard and mentor junior logistics workers; partner cross-functionally with production, planning, and client services to resolve supply chain bottlenecks promptly

Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or GED
-Prior experience in distribution, industrial shipping/receiving, or manufacturing logistics is beneficial
-Hands-on experience navigating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
-Active Forklift Certification, or the mechanical aptitude and willingness to complete certified equipment operator training upon hire
-Familiarity with bill of lading (BOL) creation, carrier communication, and inventory auditing workflows
-Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards; strict adherence to wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the plant floor
