The Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability across processing, packaging, utilities, and facility systems, while supporting the implementation of maintenance programs and systems established by the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Daily Maintenance Execution
Supervise and perform maintenance (troubleshooting, repair, PM) and prioritize work to minimize operational downtime.
Ensure all tasks are executed safely and efficiently according to procedure.
Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program
Execute and document PM schedules; recommend improvements and support predictive maintenance initiatives.
Equipment & Systems Support
Maintain and troubleshoot all plant equipment, including processing, packaging, material handling, and critical utilities (boilers, ammonia refrigeration).
Team Leadership
Lead, direct, and coach maintenance mechanics, assigning daily tasks and reinforcing safety and performance standards.
Work Order & Documentation
Manage work orders in CMMS, ensuring accurate documentation, tracking of activities, and communicating status to the Maintenance Manager.
Cross-Functional Support
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and Shipping & Receiving to support uptime, operational efficiency, and food safety compliance.
Facility & Infrastructure Maintenance
Support maintenance of building systems and infrastructure, identifying and addressing issues to maintain safe working conditions.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), and promote a strong safety culture.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement best practices to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and reduce downtime/costs.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Prior experience in food or beverage manufacturing strongly preferred.
Education:
High School
Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in maintenance within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills across multiple equipment types.
Working knowledge of:
o Mechanical, electrical, and process systems
o Preventive maintenance practices
o Industrial safety procedures
Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
Ability to lead by example in a hands-on environment.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Shift & Scheduling Expectations
This is a hands-on supervisory role supporting a manufacturing operation.
Flexibility is required to support production schedules, maintenance activities, and equipment needs.
Availability outside of standard business hours may be required to respond to equipment issues or support critical maintenance work.
Work schedules may evolve as the facility scales to additional shifts and production volumes.
