We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team supporting a nonprofit housing complex in Gilroy, CA. In this role, you will be essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of unit maintenance, from prepping homes for new families to ensuring communal areas remain pristine. This is an excellent opportunity for a handy individual with a strong sense of community to make a tangible difference in the lives of local residents. Responsibilities:
Thoroughly clean and prep units for new tenants after previous residents have moved out.
Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs, such as replacing worn faucet handles or cracked electrical outlets.
Execute interior and exterior painting tasks as needed to maintain the appearance and integrity of the housing units.
Conduct regular cleaning both inside and outside the units to ensure a high standard of living.
Regularly empty communal trash receptacles and manage waste disposal for the complex.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Skills:
Fluency in Spanish and English is a plus to better communicate with a diverse resident population.
Basic understanding of HVAC maintenance or professional landscaping techniques.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with residents and management staff.
Current OSHA 10 certification or recent specialized safety training in electrical or plumbing

Qualifications:
Six months to one year of similar maintenance or repair experience.
General knowledge of basic home repair, maintenance tools, and safety protocols.
Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently to complete daily maintenance checklists.
