Responsibilities:
Maintain a regular floor presence to observe line performance, collaborate with operators, and convert production issues into practical technical improvements.
Lead continuous improvement projects targeting worker safety, food safety, product quality, line efficiency, and productivity.
Apply structured root-cause problem-solving to address recurring or complex process, design, and equipment failures.
Partner with maintenance leadership to analyze failure patterns, improve equipment reliability, and implement preventative engineering corrections.
Manage the full lifecycle of CapEx projects, including scoping, budgeting, vendor coordination, installation, commissioning, training, and ROI closeout.
Oversee technical change control, ensuring drawings, electrical prints, PLC backups, and SOP/LOTO updates are accurate and documented.
Support facility/utility systems (compressed air, dust collection, HVAC) and technical feasibility evaluations for new product or packaging initiatives.
Direct and mentor engineering interns on assigned projects when applicable.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Manufacturing experience, ideally within a food processing environment.
Hands-on experience with packaging equipment, particularly Vertical or Horizontal Form, Fill, and Seal machines.
Experience managing capital projects, equipment installation, commissioning, or process optimization.
Formal training or certification in Six Sigma, LEAN, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Practical experience working within an SAP environment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor???s Degree in Engineering (four-year degree in any engineering discipline).
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with a strong desire to work hands-on around production equipment.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and cross-functional leadership skills to influence teams without direct authority.
Strong analytical mindset with experience using structured root-cause problem-solving methods.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and capability to read and manage technical drawings and project documentation.
