A leading metal manufacturer in Clare County is expanding and currently hiring Material Handlers to join their fast-paced production facility. As a Material Handler, you are the backbone of the shop floor-ensuring our fabrication, welding, and assembly teams have the materials they need, right when they need them. Candidates with previous material handling, warehousing, or forklift experience are desired. Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/32" and understand basic blueprint reading.

Responsibilities:

• Material Movement: Safely transport raw metals, in-process components, and finished goods across various departments (Fabrication, Assembly, Paint Line, and Shipping).
• Inventory & Staging: Load, unload, and stage materials according to work orders and department priorities.
• Quality & Verification: Inspect incoming and outgoing stock for accuracy, verifying measurements and counts against order documentation.
• Shop Support: Assist machine operators and assemblers by keeping work areas stocked and organized.
• Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace while adhering to all shop safety protocols.

Skills:

• A background working in warehousing, manufacturing, material handling, or an adjacent field is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Measurement Skills: Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to 1/32".
• Ability to read work orders and basic shop documents/blueprints.
• Availability to complete initial training on 1st or 3rd shift and work required overtime.
• Dependable transportation to support consistent attendance.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
