Material Preparation: Clean, degrease, wire brush, and prep joints???especially aluminum surfaces???to eliminate oxides, oils, and moisture prior to welding.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret mechanical drawings, AWS welding symbols, blueprints, and job specifications to measure, cut, and assemble components accurately.
Post-Weld Assembly & Finish: Inspect welds for penetration, porosity, cracks, and undercut; grind, finish, or clean welds using hand and power tools as required.
Quality & Safety: Maintain strict compliance with safety guidelines (PPE, ventilation, eye protection) and complete quality check documentation for finished parts.

Skills:
Certifications: Active AWS (American Welding Society) certifications in GMAW (D1.1 for Steel / D1.2 for Aluminum).
Process Versatility: Basic proficiency in TIG (GTAW) or Stick (SMAW) welding is a strong plus.
Fabrication Tools: Hands-on experience using metal fabrication machinery (press brakes, shears, drill presses, band saws, plasma cutters).
Quality Inspection: Experience utilizing non-destructive testing (NDT) or visual weld inspection tools (weld gages, calipers).

Equipment Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency operating spool guns or push-pull wire feeders designed for soft aluminum wire.
Blueprint Literacy: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and standard welding symbols without supervision.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work comfortably in a manufacturing shop environment.
