Spherion Staffing is seeking an experienced Plant Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance operations for a 102,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Fargo, ND.
This is a key leadership role responsible for directing a skilled maintenance team, optimizing PM schedules, and keeping high-speed production running at peak efficiency. Responsibilities:
-Team Leadership: Assign daily work orders, lead shift pass-downs, handle timekeeping, perform evaluations, and resolve team conflicts.
-Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Oversee PM programs to minimize unscheduled downtime and extend equipment lifespans.
-Strategic Planning: Schedule required parts, labor hours, and work orders during planned facility downtime and wash cycles.
-Root Cause Analysis: Drive continuous improvement by investigating equipment failures and implementing permanent corrective actions.
-Department Development: Support the Maintenance Manager on capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, department policy updates, and technician training.

Skills:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.

Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
-Education: High School Diploma required
-Experience: 5+ years as a Maintenance Technician with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
-Industry Focus: Experience in Dairy or Food & Beverage manufacturing is required.
Technical & Mechanical Skills:
-Electrical/Mechanical Balance: Ideal candidate has a 60% electrical / 40% mechanical skill distribution.
-Core Machinery: Hands-on proficiency with high-speed filling machinery and blow mold equipment.
-Automation & Controls: Strong Allen-Bradley platform experience highly preferred (PLC programming is a major plus).
-Power Systems: Solid understanding of motor control circuitry up to 480V 3-phase.
-Facility Utility Systems: Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, industrial boilers, HVAC, and air compressors.
-Software: Experience with CMMS / Maintenance planning software (Micromain experience is a plus).
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods on the manufacturing floor.
