- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeric controls, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment.- Troubleshoot production floor equipment daily, including the calibration bays, non-conformance rework, etc.- Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.- Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.- Advise operators and line leads of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.- Inform appropriate management and line leads of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.- Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.- Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed.- Perform Facility Maintenance functions as needed.- Assist and train leads, supervisors and operators.- Perform other functions or duties as assigned that fall within the purview of a Process Technician.
1-4 years
- Effective written and oral communication skills- Able to work well with minimal supervision.- Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.- Highly detail oriented.- Willingness to listen and follow instructions well.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles, able to determine equipment malfunctions and apply the skills needed in restoring equipment to operation.- High school diploma/GED required. But a higher education is appreciated.- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including soldering irons, electrical test equipment and small hand tools.- Able to drive a forklift.
