Responsibilities:
Scaling Operations: Oversee the daily operations of a high-volume recycling and production facility, ensuring processing targets meet the demands of a growing startup.
Workforce Development: Build and lead a production team, prioritizing safety training, cross-functional skills, and a culture of environmental stewardship.
Equipment & Maintenance: Manage the upkeep of specialized recycling machinery and automated sorting systems to minimize downtime and maximize yield.
Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous testing protocols to ensure recycled outputs meet strict industry standards for strength and sustainability.
Operational Strategy: Work closely with leadership to optimize the supply chain, from raw cardboard intake to finished product distribution.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
Sustainability Focus: Previous experience in circular economy initiatives or LEED-certified manufacturing environments.
Continuous Improvement: Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) to help minimize waste in the production process.
Startup Savvy: Experience working in a venture-backed or rapid-scale environment where roles often evolve.
Logistics Knowledge: Understanding of the regional recycling market and material sourcing in the Midwest.

Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years of experience in production or plant management, ideally within recycling, pulp/paper, or industrial manufacturing.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage a diverse workforce in a startup or high-growth environment where adaptability is key.
Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of industrial machinery, conveyor systems, and process flow optimization.
Compliance: Solid knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental regulations related to waste management.
Problem Solving: A "hands-on" leader who can troubleshoot mechanical issues and process inefficiencies on the fly.
