      A Clare metal manufacturer is seeking Programmable Operators to join their team! These will be 2nd & 3rd shift positions and are temp-hire opportunities if the employee can demonstrate and excellent attendance record as well as a positive work ethic. Starting compensation is $16/hour but a pay increase and benefits are available upon hire! The Programmable Operator would be responsible for inspecting the incoming materials for qualities and quantities. They would also distribute material to various departments. The PO will fabricate products using thermal cutting machinery such as lasers, plasma cutters, etc. including machine set-up, operation, and adjustment of process variables to meet production needs.Responsibilities:Unload masses of raw materials from trucks while inspecting for various quantities and qualitiesMaintain accurate inventory control by identifying and labelling materials with proper identification in storage areasCompleting and entering work orders, packing slips, and others into a computer systemSelect and deliver needed raw materials to various departments out on the production floor in a safe and timely mannerSelect appropriate programs to use on computer based on work to be completed. Cross checking that revision, part number, and description is correct and accurateBefore loading materials into machines, checking to verify correct amounts, sizing, gauge, and length of material has been used to match the correct work order. Will need to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices to verify accuracy.Perform first part inspection procedures to ensure part produced matches print specifications. Fulfills the order requirements while maintaining quality throughout the complete run.Record all labor and downtime including all information pertaining to each work order and routingPerform daily shift maintenance inspection by following a PM checklist.Skills:Must possess good math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic geometryMust have excellent problem-solving abilities.Ability to multitask by being able to complete more than one task at a time.Ability to operate machinery on a 3-dimensional basis.Agility in the upper and lower body extremities and capable of lifting up to 50Lbs regularly throughout the course of the shift.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED is desired as well as 2 years? experience and/or educational related courses on related machineryPrevious experience with blueprint reading, AutoCAD, CNC programming, thermal cutting machinery.Ability to obtain a Crane License after a full-time hire is obtained.Must comply with Spherion?s Drug Free Workplace Policy and disclose relevant criminal history at the time of hire.If you enjoy machining work and would like to pursue a CAREER with a stable and growing company, look no further! This is a temp-hire opportunity if a reliable attendance record and excellent work ethic is demonstrated! Position hours are 6:00am-4:30pm / 4:00pm-2:30am Monday-Thursday with overtime becoming regularly mandatory in the spring and summer months on Fridays and Saturdays as needed. Ideal candidates should have experience working with various production machinery such as CNC machines.
