We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA Technician to join our Quality Assurance team at the Ogden bakery. The pay rate for this hourly position is $27.37 to $28.33/hr, depending on experience (DOE). Shift: Night Shift
Hours: 10:30 PM to 7:15 AM
Days: Monday-Friday, with the required flexibility to work weekends when operational needs arise.
Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance: Manage compliance with local, state, and federal food safety policies, including overseeing rabbinical/Kosher certification requirements for ingredients.
Quality & Sanitation Oversight: Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Sanitation programs to minimize regulatory risk. Review daily quality reports, address hold/scrap issues, and manage customer complaint systematic procedures.
Inspection & Auditing: Establish inspection programs for incoming raw materials. Perform walkthrough inspections, coordinate rounds with auditors, check inbound reports against specifications, and cross-check active product labeling against ingredient listings.
Operational Control: Establish targeted quality check ranges, conduct required quality testing, develop HACCP and SPC systems, and ensure thorough allergen cleanups are executed properly.
Team Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise shift personnel???including the Senior Quality Specialist, QA Technologists, and QA Technicians. Actively address quality issues with the production team, understand production line operations, and maintain harmonious workplace relationships.
Food Safety Mandate: Maintain complete accountability for overall food safety, food quality, and food defense protocols.
Working hours: 10:30 PM - 7:15 AM
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with production, warehouse, R&D, sanitation, maintenance, HR, and outside regulatory agencies.
Good eyesight and hearing, along with the physical ability to travel as required.
Education:
High School
Experience:
7-10 years
Qualifications:
BS in Food Science or a closely related field.
8 years of experience working within the food manufacturing industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and their enforcement.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to enter data into a computer.
