Spherion has an immediate opening for a Temp to Hire Quality Control Inspector position in the Broussard, LA area for an oil & gas related company. The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to set standards. This position is also responsible for using dimensional inspection equipment as part of inspection processes.

Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with the ability work OT and/or weekends if needed
Pay: $18-22 Depending on Experience
Responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional inspections on incoming and in-process parts from machining, welding, heat treating and other suppliers to confirm conformance to engineering drawings and documentation requirements.
- Expedite daily production output by assuring timely flow of all quality control checks and corrections.
- Report inspection findings in computerized systems used to monitor inspection activities, non-conformances and failures, customer complaints, and other QMS activities.
- Provide feedback to Engineering, Purchasing and Production on product quality and inspection results.
- Effectively communicate and document non-conformances, participate in investigations and implement final disposition decisions.
- Participate in the identification of root causes and implementation of corrective actions.
- Drive timely investigation of customer complaints and non-conformances.
- Complete customer documentation packages in accordance with company procedures and customer specifications for each order.
- Interact with Sales, Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Service departments to meet internal and external customer needs.
- Assist with Quality Management System audits.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- Experience in ISO and/or API certified facility preferred, but not required.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years Quality Inspector/Tech experience using dimensional inspection equipment
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Collaborative approach to getting things done and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Ability to effectively use calipers, micrometers, and other dimensional inspection gauges.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and effectively manage time
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) with a large variety of stakeholders
- Perform within a dynamic team environment
- Exhibit a excellent Customer/Client focus
- Computer proficiency in software applications to include analysis, letter writing, email communications.
