We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer on behalf of a leading manufacturing client in Superior, WI. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for keeping production standards high and products top-tier. You will partner closely with manufacturing teams to design smart inspection processes, troubleshoot critical issues, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:45AM - 5:00PM
What You'll Do:
- Set the Standards: Create clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) and inspection criteria for incoming products and packaging.
- Support the Team: Train and mentor manufacturing personnel on quality control testing and how to use inspection equipment properly.
- Optimize Workflows: Design inspection layouts and workflows while using LEAN tools (like 5S, process mapping, and design of experiments) to boost efficiency.
- Problem-Solve & Investigate: Act as the internal expert when critical quality issues pop up, reporting findings and collaborating on quick, effective corrections.
- Drive New Projects: Support the rollout of new product designs, test runs, and corporate manufacturing goals.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Build positive working relationships across different departments to ensure everyone is aligned on quality standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field preferred).
- Experience: At least 2 years of Quality Engineering experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- LEAN Mindset: Solid understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts, 5S, Six Sigma, or Value Stream Mapping.
- Technical & Math Skills: Good mechanical/electrical aptitude, strong math skills, and experience with CAD or 3D modeling programs.
- Project & People Skills: Strong project management skills (meeting milestones) and the ability to lead small, diverse, cross-functional teams.
- Tech Savvy: Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).
- Location: Ability to work 100% on-site in Superior, WI .
- Prior professional experience specifically within a fast-paced production processing environment.
