We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Technician to join a team at a state-of-the-art, high-volume automated solar module manufacturing facility in College Station, TX. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that all raw materials, in-process components, and finished renewable energy products adhere strictly to quality standards, engineering specifications, and industry compliance requirements. Working on the production floor, you will conduct inspections, perform testing, collaborate with equipment and production teams, and assist with root-cause analysis to support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
Perform continuous visual, dimensional, and technical inspections of solar modules, raw materials, and sub-assemblies across fully automated production lines.
Execute routine electrical, structural, and environmental quality tests utilizing specialized lab and production testing equipment.
Identify, tag, quarantine, and document out-of-spec materials, defect trends, or process deviations. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) promptly.
Log quality inspection metrics, test results, and yield loss data into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and quality databases to support real-time KPI tracking.
Assist quality engineers and production teams with root-cause investigations (5-Why, 8D, Fishbone) for defects or customer returns, contributing to corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.
Ensure quality control gauges, measurement instruments, and testing equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, and verified before use.
Audit adherence to standard work procedures across production lines to ensure compliance with ISO, UL, and internal quality management standards.
Partner closely with Production Leads, Process Engineers, and Equipment Technicians to address quality issues in real time and minimize scrap rate.
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Skills:
Experience in high-volume solar module manufacturing, semiconductor, microelectronics, or automated cleanroom/assembly lines.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and standard quality tools (SPC, Pareto analysis, 5S).
Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification through ASQ.
Familiarity with automated vision systems, electroluminescence (EL) testing, or flash testing equipment.

1-4 years
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or testing within a modern manufacturing environment (electronics, automated assembly, or renewable energy preferred).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standard operating procedures (SOPs), schematics, and measurement standards.
Hands-on experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, multimeters, gauges, optical inspection equipment).
Familiarity with basic data entry and reporting using ERP/MES software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams).
Excellent visual acuity and keen observational skills to detect subtle defects, electrical flaws, or assembly variations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to report quality issues clearly and collaborate across shifts.
Ability to stand, walk the factory floor, bend, lift up to 35???50 lbs, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout an 8- to 12-hour shift.
