A Gratiot County construction manufacturer is seeking Assemblers to join their team for their busy season! There are openings on 1st (7:00am-3:00pm) and 2nd (3:00pm-11:00pm) shifts (3rd shift is 11:00pm-7:00am and is currently filled) and employees must be able to work ANY SHIFT as well as MANDATORY OVERTIME (Saturdays) in order to stay on schedule. A background in construction is preferred but not required. Employees will need to provide their own Steel Toe Boots (NOT SHOES), High VIS shirts (after they have been there for a bit, they will give them shirts), Hammer and a holster (Hammer needs to be at least a 24 oz.). Advancement opportunities are available as requirements are met within the established time frames.Responsibilities:Performs most or all repetitive jobs on an assembly or sub-assembly line to produce building material components or mill-work productsEnsures accurate conformance with dimension specifications and drawings.Assembles building material components such as wall panels, roof and floor trusses (This includes insertion or positioning of materials, clamping, splicing, fitting parts and use of both hand and power tools.)Ensures that sub-assembled and assembled items meet specific quality specificationsProposes process improvements in order to increase finished quality or efficiency of assembly processes.Skills:Ability to measure accurately and efficientlyAbility to remain on feet for 10-hour shifts with regular bending, stooping, twisting, lifting and carrying up to 50Lbs.Ability to use hand tools in a repetitive and safety-conscious mannerAbility to read and interpret blueprints and job ordersAbility to work well with a team and communicate effectivelyQualifications:A background in construction is preferred but not required.Candidates must comply with Spherion's Drug Free Workplace Policy and disclose relevant criminal history at the time of hire.Are you good with your hands and do you like to stay busy?
