Compliance & Audits: Conduct daily walkthroughs and audits of processing floors, cold storage facilities, and machinery to ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, PPE requirements, and ergonomic standards.Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations for any workplace injuries, near-miss incidents, or safety hazards; determine root causes and implement corrective action plans.Safety Training & Onboarding: Develop and deliver engaging onboarding and ongoing safety training sessions for new hires and current staff in both English and Spanish.Hazard Mitigation: Identify workplace risks???such as slippery surfaces, chemical handling, heavy equipment movement, and sharp tools???and establish preventative controls.Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety logs, OSHA 300 logs, incident reports, and safety training sign-in sheets.Emergency Response: Serve as a primary point of contact for plant emergency response protocols, first aid initiatives, and safety committee meetings.Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance (QA) to maintain a secure, sanitary, and hazard-free environment.

Education: Associate's in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.Certifications: OSHA 10/30-Hour Certification, CPR/First Aid Certification, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP/ASP) designations.Industry Background: Specific prior experience in food processing, protein processing, agriculture, or high-humidity/cold-storage food manufacturing facilities.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.Experience: Minimum of 2???3 years of hands-on safety supervisory or coordination experience in an industrial, manufacturing, food processing, or agricultural environment.Regulatory Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of OSHA standards, worker safety regulations, and general plant safety protocols.Bilingual Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English and Spanish to effectively communicate safety policies to diverse line staff.Communication & Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills to coach employees, mediate safety concerns, and partner constructively with plant management.Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for record-keeping and report filing.
