Job Description:
A boiler technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing boiler systems and associated equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The role includes diagnosing and resolving faults, carrying out routine servicing, and complying with all relevant safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Installation and Maintenance: Installing new boilers and associated equipment, and performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting controls.
- Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and repairing boiler malfunctions, replacing parts as needed, and providing emergency repair services.
- Inspection and Testing: Conducting regular inspections to ensure efficient operation, testing boiler water, and adjusting chemicals to prevent corrosion and deposits.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards, monitoring gauges and meters, and reporting any unusual situations.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Education: High School/GED
Experience: 6 months
Skills:
- Electrical, mechanical work in industrial facilities.
- Calibration of industrial controls and instruments.
- Electrical control cabinet fabrication.
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience is a plus.
- Computer and networking skills.
