Responsibilities:
Chemical Milling Assistance: Partner with senior operators to prepare aerospace parts for chemical milling, including racking components, repairing protective coatings, and performing basic scribing according to standard operating procedures.
Precision Measurement & Inspection: Read and interpret work orders, manufacturing travelers, and shop sketches to verify part dimensions and material thickness using micrometers, depth gauges, and ultrasonic equipment.
Process Calculations: Perform basic mathematical calculations to determine chemical etch rates, ensuring precise metal removal and meeting strict engineering specifications.
Quality & Defect Control: Inspect processed parts for chemical milling defects and follow standard troubleshooting steps to perform necessary corrections.
Material Handling: Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and industrial carts to transport sensitive aircraft components through various processing stages.
Team & Project Support: Assist shop leadership and actively participate in special projects, continuous improvement initiatives, or team committees as assigned.
Working hours: 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Skills:
Tank or Chemical Experience: Past experience working with chemical milling, coating parts, or factory tanks.
Aerospace Background: Experience working with airplane or aerospace parts.
Advanced Tools: Experience using ultrasonic tools to check metal thickness.
Team Projects: Experience helping with special projects or team improvement committees.
