Basic Tax Law Knowledge: Understanding the difference between standard and itemized deductions, as well as common credits (e.g., Child Tax Credit, EITC).Documentation Review: The ability to verify the accuracy of information against official records, similar to how a payroll manager verifies pay rates and deductions. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, TurboTax, or Lacerte) and basic productivity tools like Microsoft Excel. Regulatory Compliance: A strong focus on maintaining compliance with federal and state laws, much like managing payroll withholdings and Medicaid eligibility requirements. Data Entry Accuracy: Entering high volumes of alphanumeric data with extreme precision to avoid billing or filing variances. Recordkeeping: Maintaining organized electronic and physical files to expedite processing and audits. Reconciliation: The skill to perform account analysis to ensure payments or filings match internal records.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Tax Preparation: Prepare and file accurate federal and state income tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
Client Consultation: Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary financial information and documentation.
Compliance: Ensure all returns are filed in accordance with current IRS regulations and state laws.
Data Entry: Input financial data into tax software with a high degree of accuracy.
Problem Solving: Identify potential tax credits and liabilities to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Bookkeeping & Accounting: A foundational understanding of debits, credits, and financial records is vital. Account Reconciliation: Experience in reconciling accounts to ensure accurate payments or statements.
