The Seasonal Tax Preparer is responsible for accurately preparing and filing federal, state, and local tax returns for clients on a contract or temporary basis, primarily during the peak tax season. This role requires a strong understanding of current tax regulations and a commitment to providing excellent client service.

Prepare and accurately file various tax returns, including simple and complex individual (Form 1040) and small business returns.
Review financial records, statements, and supporting documentation provided by clients to ensure accuracy and completeness of tax filings.
Identify potential tax-saving opportunities and advise clients on relevant deductions and credits to minimize liabilities and maximize returns.
Utilize tax software applications to input data, compute tax liabilities, and arrange for manual or electronic filing with government agencies.
Communicate with clients to gather required information/documents, answer tax-related questions, and resolve any discrepancies.
Stay current with changes and updates to federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, applying them correctly during return preparation.
Maintain thorough records and client tax files, ensuring all data is kept confidential and accessible.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Prior experience in tax preparation is typically required (2+ seasons preferred).
Proficiency with tax preparation software.

A working knowledge of IRS guidelines and federal/state tax regulations.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage a high volume of work and meet all filing deadlines.
