Our client, a premier manufacturing leader in Superior WI, is seeking a Temporary Buyer to support day-to-day purchasing activities and supplier coordination for a six-month assignment. The selected candidate will undergo cross-training alongside an outgoing team member before taking independent ownership of the day-to-day responsibilities, supported by the broader Sourcing team throughout the role.

Responsibilities:
- Order Management: Execute MRP-generated purchase orders and manage delivery schedules to ensure continuous material availability.
- Supplier Coordination: Track open purchase orders, follow up on supplier commitments, and resolve delivery or supply timeline issues proactively.
- Internal Communication: Serve as the central point of contact between suppliers and internal teams regarding inventory status, material availability, and supply updates.
- Data & Inventory Integrity: Maintain accurate purchasing records, system data, and support ongoing inventory replenishment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; JD Edwards (JDE) experience is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset and collaborative approach.
- Attributes: Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
- Proactive Communicator: Comfortable picking up the phone and engaging with a wide variety of internal and external partners.
- Execution-Focused: Motivated by tactical execution, transactional purchasing, and maintaining smooth operational workflows.
- Dependable & Self-Motivated: Able to take ownership of tasks quickly and drive issues to resolution.
- Experience: Prior experience in purchasing, buying, planning, procurement, or general supply chain operations preferred.
