Set up and operate welding equipment to assemble structural components and complete precision welding tasks.Perform TIG and MIG welding according to job specifications and engineering requirements.Set up, adjust, and maintain MIG and TIG power sources and related equipment.Produce clean and consistent structural welds using ARC equipment and specialized wire feeders.Fabricate and assemble component parts, custom fixtures, and shop equipment.Read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings to determine joint geometry and assembly requirements.Work with standard and specialty metals, including various alloys.Perform visual and dimensional inspections of completed work.Use precision measuring tools to verify parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.Identify and correct welding or fabrication issues as needed.Maintain a clean and organized work area.Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and manufacturing standards.Complete routine documentation and other job-related duties as assigned.
1-4 years
Welding certification from an accredited institution.Previous experience with TIG/GTAW welding.Previous experience with MIG/GMAW welding.Experience with stick/manual ARC welding.Experience fabricating structural assemblies.Experience working with specialty or exotic alloys.Knowledge of shop geometry and basic trigonometry.Experience setting up welding equipment and adjusting welding parameters.Ability to document work, complete routine reports, and communicate production issues.Familiarity with manufacturing quality standards and inspection procedures.Experience working with precision components and tight engineering tolerances.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.At least 1 year of relevant hands-on welding or metal fabrication experience.Experience working with various metals and alloys.Basic knowledge of joint preparation, fit-up, and manual welding techniques.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.Ability to use basic precision measuring tools.Ability to follow safety procedures and manufacturing requirements.Ability to work 100% onsite in a production environment.Ability to stand, move, and perform hands-on welding and fabrication tasks for extended periods.
